METAL BUILDING FOUNDATION

82ND PLACE RESIDENCE AND SHOP

The 82ND Place Residence and Shop is a large 57'x100' metal building that serves as storage and a shop for a car collection and includes living quarters. The living quarters are a 2 story wood framed structure that were designed to allow for the deflection that the metal building receives during higher wind or seismic events. The upper level includes a gym and master bedroom while the lower level has space for a kitchen. laundry, bathroom, and family room. Multiple foundation systems were designed with the intent of determining the cost differences between the systems. Those systems were helical piers with pile caps, concrete caissons, and footings bearing on over-excavated soils. This project is currently under construction.
